Adjust Handbrake for an Astra?

You should be able to lift up the plastic gaiter that is on the handbrakebrake, you will then see the handbrake cable going through the handbrake with a nut on the end of it, take the handbrake off and tighten the nut, if the handbrake is going up too far I would suggest that you check the brake drums for excessive wear.

sounds like its worth taking it back to whoever fitted the shoes and asking them to finish the job.

you need to check your rear brake shoes first to see how much wear you got on them.
