Why does the cold only trickle out on my washer; hot is fine?

I have a problem with the cold water barely coming out whenever we try to wash a load. The hot water comes out just fine and fills quickly. I have checked the cold water hose and it is not clogged and I have also checked the cold spout as well and it lets water out at full pressure. Is there something in the washer itself that is causing the blockage?
