Mend Renault Clio 1.4 S Idle

idle speed?

i have a renault clio1.4 s its an 8 valve. The engine is very staggery when car is ticking over, ive been told that the valves need set to the proper settings, is this true? can anyone give me some advice please.

what reg is it?it sounds more like an idle control valve sticking to me.just needs cleaning out.quick & easy job
