Diplomat ADP1520 Cermaic Hob is locked...help?

Can't turn on hob as its locked (safety lock) and none of the buttons will work. Manaul only says how to lock it and not how to unlock it!

The same happened to mine - my friend who is a kitchen fitter took the back plate off underneath and Found signs of burning in the terminal block & suppressor unit -both of which are available at inter-spares but aren't cheap. I will update when I get around to buying and fitting the parts.
