How can I replace a crank sensor?

How do I replace the crank sensor on a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500.
The sensor is on the transmission and the cable broke. Can it be replaced without having to drop the transmission?

Yes. I think you can replaced it or fix the cable if it is good. I replaced on my dodge caravan 1996, is diferent car but lookslike some. On my car that sensso has just one screw and one cable with connector. In my case I oppend the capoon to replaced it. Try may be you will get fix it. I'm sorry for my English. I payd US$40.00 for htat senssor
