How do I fix my dyson hoover DC04 Absolute +?

I forgot to mention in my earlier response that you'll probably find when you get it open that all the wires are intact at the switch. What usually happens is that one of the wires is actually broken inside the cable where it constantly flexes in use ie right where it bends going into the switch. That being the case you'll need to cut the cable back about 50-100mm to remove the bad bit and re-terminate it completely.....

standing behind the cleaner look vertically down at the on/off button. You'll see a small slot at it's left side into which a very slim screwdriver (or similar) blade can be inserted and pressed downwards onto a lug at the base of the button. You should be able to feel it give a little - then the button should pop up. Good luck...I nearly wrecked mine in finding that out....
