Mend Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 Engine Cuts Out

What could be wrong with my corsa?

When i try to start my vauxhall corsa 1.2 V reg it sound as if engine is starting but then it cuts out and engine management light comes on can anyone help please?

The usual faults are related to the throttle valve body, incorporating a mechanical idle motor. Can be rectified by cleaning the throttle butterfly with a solvent. Another common fault is a faulty magnetic crank pickup device (crank sensor) these are sealed units and have to be replaced. This maybe a job for your local friendly mechanic....Best of luck
