How do I fix my cigarette lighter if I've already checked the fuse?
Hi, I automatically checked the fuse when my cigarette lighter didn't work in my 1.2 S reg clio. When I replaced it I think it blew instantly? There's also 2 pieces of green plastic of four that have broken off which appear to necessary for my mobile phone charger to fit. Should I replace the whole thing, and if yes, where would I get one and can I fit it myself?? Jen
You will need to replace the lighter assembly, it was never designed to power mobile phone chargers. On later vehicles they are now fitted with power outlets instead. Firstly buy a new lighter assembly and see how it is retained in the fascia panel, the panel is normally held in with a couple of torq screws beneath the lift out ashtray bin. Refit in reverse order and admire your handy work...Best of Luck..
