Yep as Mick says, clutch release bearing.

Also you van wont be 2.5 TD, but it might be 2.4 or even 2.0.

If the rattle stops when you put your foot on the clutch, it seems like your clutch release bearing has had it, to renew it would mean removel of the gear box, check clutch wile gearbox is out, release bearing is also called thrust bearing.
