how can i fix my mark 3 1.4 astra windscreen wipers?

Check that the spindle(s) have not worked loose from the metal plate they are attached to. Time to pop the hood and have a look. Undo nuts on wiper arms (13mm nut), remove wiper arms and check conical splines are not worn away. remove black/grey rain cowl and rubber strip that holds it in place. You should now have access to motor assembly and all moving parts. Check integrity of spindles and movement of rest of wiper linkages.
