How can I fix my Mp3 player its a RCA H100?

Every time I turn my mp3 on it says FAT error it needs to be formatted. But when I plug it into into my computer the computer won't read that it's pluged in.The screen will come up that asks if I want to sync my mp3 but in my doc's the computer won't read it. Also I tried 3 different usb cords so its not that.

I have the exact same problem!
It's so, so annoying. It just flashes on saying that there's a FAT error, and to connect to a hard drive, or something. I don't know, it flashes off too quickly. But when I try to connect it to the computer, nothing at all happends, like, the computer really doesn't read it..
agh.
I'm thinking, we should just not get Lyra mp3 players anymore, 'cause all the other ones I've had have messed up in some odd way.

that doesn't help. tried resetting it. there is no menu to even look at. just symbols. and then freezes up. Tried to put it in safe mode and no luck there either. Just Keeps saying Fat error format usm stuff. and freezes again. So how the heck do you reformat the dang thing

If you set the H100 to MSC mode the PC should read it as a hard drive. Turn it on, press the menu button, select Settings > Advanced > Protocol and press play button to set it to MSC. Then the PC can read it as a hard drive and you can format it as FAT32. Be sure to set the protocol mode back to MTP after you're done.

If having problems getting the H100 to hook up to the PC, hold the play button on the H100 while connecting the USB cable to go into 'safe mode'.
