Mend Heating Temperature Thermostat

How do I turn off an old radiator?

I live in a 3-room attic apartment that is on the same furnace and thermostat as the 2nd floor. 3rd floor is extremely hot - 2nd floor is kinda cool. At some point we will update to zoned heating, but in the meantime, if I could just get the radiators to turn off....No matter how much I turn the knobs the heat is still full force. (thanks).

Kinda sounds like the radiator valves don't work don't you think? Guess you had better go for;

1. New rad valves, or.
2. Zoned heating, or even.
3. Turn the whole lot off and use clothes to aquire the desired temprature.
