My dehumidifier has developed a fault - the fan will operate on both speeds but no condensing is happening, I can hear what I think is the compressor attempting to start, but this noise occurs for seconds only and is louder than I think it should be. Do you know if this could be a compressor fault or is there a thermostat fitted of some sort? - or has it reached its life expectancy - although it is years old it has up to now been a fantastic machine and I am not happy to scrap it.
Hoping you can help

THE HUMIDEX 7 WAS A GREAT MACHINE. YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT COMPRESSOR, THE GAS WILL HAVE RUN OUT. IT IS NOT ECONOMICAL TO REPAIR. I CAN MAIL YOPU A LIST OF EQUIVELENT MACHINES.
