my tumble dryer as stopped working . went to turn it on and nothing happens at all. changed the fuse in the plug and checked the wires on all conections and they are all conected ok
I had this problem twice with a TDC30 cond dryer - try thermostats otherwise I had to replace timer - diagnostic for the latter was done under warranty by hotpoint. The engineer advises that latest models b hotpoint are rubbish compared to this one. I think they are italian hybrids now - indesit?

change both thermostats on the back above the coil one is an overheat and is a one time only. once its tripped you have to replace it

It's likely they use a similar mains switch as on their Aquarius washing machine - if so..I had to replace one not long ago. Where it gets hot (poor design) the spade terminals seem to sink into the molten plastic of the switch and you lose connection. Put a meter across it (remember it's double pole) costs about £8 to replace.
