Fix my Hotpoint ctd40?

Hi my problm is my dryer has a few heating elements broke but it wont spin either but the belt is fine. Would it not spin if the elements r broke then thanks.

Hi all,
I just had the empty water light flashing on my CTD40, after reading this thread i did a little investgating and found the rubber blade on the end of the pump had split and come away, causing the motor to stop running.
Just thought i'd let anyone know to look for this if they have a similar problem, and that a little superglue does the trick aswell.

I had the same problem (the empty water light flashing continuously) - after dismantling the pump housing (bottom right at rear) I found that some polystyrene balls (from the float? - great design there!) had come loose and were stopping the float dropping back down (the float rises and trips a micro-switch when the reservoir is full).

since they've all been removed, I haven't a repeat of the problem.

I have the same problem. I found a small black part had fallen off either the back of the water container or at the back where the water container connects with the machine. It doesn't seem to fix it if you reconnect it to the water container and you can't get at it from the water compartment so there must be a way of re-connecting it from the back of the machine by disconnecting part of the back? I haven't tryed that yet as only happened today.
