Kenmore canister vac disassemble?

Hi
Having problems disassembling. Vacuum has to screws under the lid and I took them out but I can not see the other screws in the back. It looks like they would be under the cord take cover but I cannot take that out and I don't want to pry it out . Any suggestion ?? I know that there are four screws, but how do you remove the cord retract "plate"?

Tom I had the same problem. The Cord rectractor plate on model nuumber 11629512993 is held in place by 4 plastic tabs on the plate fitting under 4 plastic flanges on the body. I remomed the plate by pulling up on the back of the plate and rotating it slightly forward. The plate snapped off from the body and fortunately none of the plastic tabs broke. Once the plate is remoced you can access the two remaining screws.
