How can I mend speed dial on Kenwood KM201 mixer?

The speed dial, including the spring and inner plastic cylinder, has come loose on my KM201 mixer.

It looks like the bolt in the middle of the dial is held in position on the motor housing by a weak adhesive or even a piece of sticky tape. What is the correct way to hold this in place?
