Won’t switch on at all?

Hi there,
I have a dishwasher baumatic BFD47SS, when I switch it on the lights come on and then quickly go off and it doesn’t work at all.
I have checked the fuse and it works fine in other machines and the socket is fine as others work in it.
I have hit the control a few times, to make it kick in and has done the trick, but this time nothing. So am wondering if something is loose in the control panel? How can I fix this myself? Try things before calling in the professionals? Many thanks
