Mend Kitchen Appliances, Refrigerators

Thanks again for replying Rupert, ?

Your method was my first preference but concerned over how I can “exit” the wires from the cabinet? As the original stat wires are “tightly” concealed and run through insulation toward compressor, I’m also at a loss how to install Inkbird temp probe? Should I carefully drill cabinet and glue probe to inside back of fridge area? then seal around hole with filler? I have no issue drilling cabinet as it isn’t an expensive appliance. Your YouTube vid done 2 years ago by “Paul”? Showed him drilling rear of f/f to install temp probe, although my unit has a back cover that has no screws and appears permanently sealed, id be grateful for your advice on this, thanks again, Andrew

Further to my earlier reply, the model I've got is not the same as yours so can't use this as a reference. So, from memory, I think you have a fairly chunky housing within the fridge that houses the temp dial? Assuming you do, your best plan of action would to release this whole housing from the internal wall and get access to the wiring. Loacte the two wires we have identified previously and seperate these if secured to that housing. They will then run backwards and then downwards to compressor section via a conduit lined with grey foam. Clipping off the plasitic terminals on both these wires will allow you to draw them out from below where you can then use them for your Inkbird connections.
Another suggestion, is that you tape the new probe wire to these two wires before your pull them out, the result avoids drilling the cabinet and the probe wires will be neatly routed through the conduit. I hope this works if you choose this option!
If my memory has failed me and your fridge isn't configured like this, let me know and we can figure out another solution.

Hello again Andrew, you're welcome!
I have a similar model of fridge knocking about somewhere, I'll take a look at it later and post a further reply about the wiring routing issue.
In the meantime, drilling through the cabinet whilst taking care to avoid damaging pipework, is fine. Avoid a location where pooled water could leak through your hole. Seal with a bit of clear silicone.
