I have a 2010 roomster diesel I can get reverse when cold ?

I have a roomster 2010 diesel and am finding I can get reverse on first getting into my car but after driving for
a while I can not seem to be able to get reverse and have had to be pushed out when I have parked shopping the other gears are absolutely fine. can someone advise me please?
