Kenwood slimline dishwasher ?

I have just bought a Kenwood slimline dishwasher and when I tried to use it tonight there is water coming out of the bottom of the machine and it is making a terribl noise. I put it on quick wash but the light is saying no salt. Do I need to put salt in to make it work. Why is it making such a terribl noise,
