How can I fix my Panasonic NV-VHD1B combo recorder?

Both Video and VDV playing in black and white

If connected via a scart lead to the television ensure s-video not selected as this will result in b&w. If still a problem check the correct colour format has been selected in your vcr. If you are in the u.k then this will be PAL and the sound system is system I.
