Mend Yale Lock Door Faulty

faulty yale lock?

the yale lock on my front door wont let you close the door or open it, can put the front door key in but it wont turn, cant even put the door on the latch and close it that way the latch will not move at all, does this mean 1 I need a new lock completely, but how do I do a temp fix so I can at least close my front door?
