Mend Bose Wave Cd Player Play

bose wave system worm drive?

The cd player wont play properly(front loader) so I took it apart and it looks like the worm drive for the laser movement is slipping can I tighten it or is it just knackered?

You could try very, very carefully, to clean the rods that he laser carriage slides along - use a Q-Tip and some isopropyl alcohol. You could also clean the pickup lens.

There are probably videos for cleaning laser pickups, assemblies and guides. just search - even something mechanically similar will give you a guide.
