Mend White Knight CL427WV Tumble Dryer Timer

I have a white knight CL427 WV and cannot switch off?

Had the back off my dryer and a wire came off-have looked at the picture posted elsewhere on this site and everything now working except the timer switch wont turn off-i know switch works because when i was experimenting, the timer switch WAS turning off but dryer kept running when i opened door!!!
so i meddled with wiring a bit and got to the stage i'm at now

state of play at the moment (wiring wise) from left hand side (earth terminal)
1-white wire with brown stripe
2-blank
----------
3-dark blue
4-light blue
----------
5-black with white stripe
6-grey
----------
7-blank
8-blank

any help would be greatly appreciated

i dont know where you got your colours from but mine seem different so i will see if this helps still (i have same model)

ok looking from side on the top one should be "Orange" the next connection point below "White and brown"

the earth goes the closest to the front of the machine

then you should have set of connection points side by side put the "dark blue" on the left and the "Light blue" on the right

then right on the bottom should be a "black/white"
