whirlpool awz 8469 condens type, didn't heat up or shortly and then only ventilates. Solved by putting some water in the place where the watercollectorreservoir was, then put the waterreservoir back in. The inputed water runs down to the waterpomp and pomps it back in the reservoir above. Somehow this makes everything work again!! It heats up whole the time.

Did you check the thermostats and heater to see if you actually needed to replace them?
Its a bit difficult to help without knowing the make and model of the machine, or if there are any other symptoms (including error lights or messages) - my crystal ball is non the blink
