green screen on dvd player?

This is a new problem on a tv and tv player that I have had for quite a while. When I try to watch a dvd on my tv dvd player I get a green screen and the door won't open etc. Every time I turn it around to make sure every is plugged in the tv starts to reboot. Do i have to buy a new dvd player?
