Central locks to both rear doors on 1998 scenic jammed?

I have a 1998 scenic which has both rear ear doors permanently locked closed. I will The car is otherwise perfect.when I unlock the car with the remote fob, the locking pegs attempt to unlock but drop back down. I have the door inner panels off and from what I can see, everything appears OK, but the solenoid is hidden behind the metal at the rear edge of the door, so I can't fully check.
Any advice would be very much appreciated. Thanking you in anticipation.
