Mend Pro Heat Tool

spray?

I have a Bissel Pro Heat Pet. It won't spray on the floor setting and the hand tool sprays no matter what setting it is on. That makes me think the solution is getting through ok and I have cleaned it out and taken the handle apart to check the trigger and all seems ok. Does anyone have a suggestion? I read about the heater being clogged. Where is the heater located and what does it look llike? thank you for your suggestions because I don't want to buy a new one and really did like how this one cleans

The heater itself is a small rectangular block made out of aluminum with a stainless steel cover. I believe it has about 7 screws holding the SS cover in place. You will need to remove the cover and then clean out any blockage and corrosion inside where the water flow. Also ensure that the lines in and out of the heated core are also free of any blockage.

The Pro Heat Pet is probably similar to the 7901 model. The heater for that is in the lower section of the handle. To access it you have to remove two bolts that can be seen from the front of the machine and 4 screws from the tool caddy side of the handle. The 2 bolts and the top 2 screws hold the tool caddy in place as well. Once the caddy is off you can remove the bottom 2 screws without the caddy in your way. The top part of the handle pulls up and the bottom portion of the handle will then separate allowing access to the heater unit. If you have a heating light on the front you will have to carefully remove the power leads from the light to fully separate the section. Make sure the plug has been disconnected before working on the machine as you will be exposing power leads. If the heater had been on before you disassemble be careful of the heater core as it may be hot.
