I have an upper small window in a large double glazed bedroom window. Having not been opened for a while it seized in the shut position. It is not the locking mechanism. The plate with the locking stubs is stuck solid. As the window is shut this is inaccessible. The handle and lock have been removed, but the rest of the mechanism prevents access to the locking bar. Any suggestions?
Flood it with WD40, getting it as far inside as you can. Maybe work thru the handle hole as well. Re-insert the handle and rotate back and forth in an attempt to free up the plate.
