How to start diplomat oven after power cut/buttons not working?

Grrrr.. after power being turned off oven is now flashing with the A symbol and 0.0 even though I have held and released the buttons to try to set the clock. .nothing is happening the display still flashes with the A. ?? Tried to release the buttons in case they stuck down with moisture etc but still when I press them in nothing happens. ..can anyone help??.. there's a sticky toffee pudding I was hoping to eat tonight!!!!! :)

Yes done the depressing buttons and trying to change the plus and minus signs to revert clock onto manual but doesn't matter which buttons I press the are not having any effect on the display? ???

On my cooker - and the one before that - I depress and hold in buttons 2& 3 from the left and adjust with plus and minus on the right.

Yes done the switching on and off. .but still the buttons won't change the display :(
