There are several reports on here of failed dashboards on Renault Scenic and Megane vehicles.

It seems to be a quality problem - either poor joints or a component not properly selected for the job it has to do.

You may do best to call the nearest dealership to discuss your realistic options - you will not be the first person to have this problem in NZ - they will know about it.
