how to change washer on mixer tapps?

how to replace washers in kitchen mixer tap. the make is J L the taps are either side and horizontal opposed, a 1/4 turn an they are fully open.

Turn off the supply at a convenient point - remove the top cover - use a spanner to take out the ceramic cartridge - take it to a plumbers' merchant - ask them to match it - hot and cold are different - and there are several different styles.

Then put the new one in and tighten it up.
