Mend Renault Megane Sport

Odd central locking on 01 Renault Megane?

My 01 Y Reg Megane sport 1390cc 5dr has developed an odd fault. From starting the engine the first turn of the steering wheel locks the central locking. This started after the car failed to start due to a broken earth lead (negative lead from battery to body) which has now been repaired. any ideas?

You should switch a contact only (without starting the engine) and press unlocking button for 10 secunds. After you hear beeping sound, release the button. There will not be not automatic locking (when car reach 7km/hour speed). Same procedure with pressing locking button will activate it again (or replacement of batery like you did).
