Mend Renault Diesel EGR Valve

idle problem?

I have a Renault scenic megane 1.9 dci 2003. it goes very well plenty of power but it sounds like its ticking over to slow in idle I took it to a garage they put it on a dianostic machine but it showed no faults someone thought it could be the egr valve the garage said its fine, help?
