Front brake pads changed but break peddle makes a wooshy sound ?

Just changed my front brake pads on a 58 plate megane 1.4 mk2 I have changed brake pads on many vehicles fine over the years but after changing them which seemed to be really easy master cylinder was alway full didn't have to release the caliper nipple as piston went back fine. But after all assembled I tried pumping my brake and it made a wooshy sound when it finds compression like it should but it never really got its compression and it's always making the wooshy sound. Brake lines and pipes all fine no damage really confused?

It is difficult to say what your problem is and you seem to have replaced the pads as normal, I think what you are saying is that you lose your pedal after pumping it up and suggests air is in your system, I remember on some Vauxhalls that when pushing back the calliper pistons you had to slacken the bleed screw to release the brake fluid or it damaged seals in the master cyl. with problems similar to yours, whether that is your problem it is hard to say but would maybe try and give your system a bleed and see how you get on, good luck.
