Open it up and remove batteries/sd card etc and stand it so it can vent easily in a warm place for a couple of days.Good luck.

Explain to him that some things are not waterproof and immersion can ruin them forever - do not scold him - it will do no good. His lesson will be the suffering from having no camera.
