hi there first of all merry christmas. just a quick question for any alarm experts out there. i have a scantronic 9600 and i'm trying to make a choice of which internal speaker to choose. there is a elmdene 16 ohm 20 watt speaker, there is also a kinetic 16 ohm 12vdc piezo speaker. they both look the same despite the their specification. but here is the question which of these 2 speakers stated would be louder?. or would it not make a difference? thanks
hi gts. the elmdene speaker arrived today, i'm afraid i missed your last response. i ordered the one with the tamper. never mind lol. i connected the speaker to the system and tested and nearly had a heart attack lol. what a bl***y volume the 9600 has on it. words cannot describe the volume. put this way no one is going to be in the house for long. it even sounds louder than my texecom bellbox and that's saying something. thanks again and have a good year.

one more thing do not buy the one with a tamper micro switch I it,waste of your hard earned dosh,if the bad guys get close enough to the speaker,your screwed anyway ,if you see what I mean :-)

the other is driven via a little transformer,cheap as chips,elmdene one has a proper 16 ohm cone speaker far better quality merry xmas to you too
