sky+ box wont come on ?

hi last night my Sky+ box would not come on at all. had beenok earlier in the day. unlike most questions i see on t'internet, there are no lights coming on at all. when i unplug and replug i hear it whirring and the box felt warm . the display on tv says sky+ hd please wait for about a minute theres a bit more whirring then nothing..... box is 18 months old so out of warranty - help! box is a drx890-c which i believe is an amstrad
