Mend Atlanta FO1 Remote Control Box

I can't switch on the heat on my Atlanta fire?

I can switch on the flame effect with either the remote or the control box, but when I press the button for the heat the fire just goes off. Switching it off completely and starting again doesn't make any difference.
The remote has 'Type FO1' on the back.
Can anyone please help.
