how can i fix my switch park brake on vauxhall astra?

the rear brakes on my Vauxhall astra 1.6 sri are over heating and squealing after a long run could it be the automatic hand brake?

I would remove the wheels first and make sure the pads are nice and free in the caliper bridge,not sure on these but if it has an electric parking brake then a suitable computer may be needed to allow you to work on these safely.
