Check that the leads to the battery and earth are all secure with no breaks.
How old is the battery? If the original it may need a brand new replacement.
Check the alternator drive belt. If broken fit a new belt. If intact and in place, check the electrical connections to the alternator. If all present and correct, suspect that the alternator may be faulty and needs replacing. At nearly 10 years old, depending on the mileage of the car it may be worn out.
