Mend Singer 631g Capacitor Hot Machine

after removing the capacitor, the footpedal gets hot and smoking?

I have a Singer 631g.
I removed the capacitor.
The machine runs fine, but after one hour, the footpedal started being hot, and there after there was that special smell.
Is there another capacitor, which you cannot see?

The capacitor that was in there would have been smelling and the smell would linger on, if the capacitor is removed there is no reason why it should smell and it would get warm but not really hot
