Mend Vax rapide ultra Fuse Blew Power

Vax rapide ultra carpet shampooer - can I replace the fuse myself?

My Vax blew a fuse which I replaced but no power.
My fault, I inserted the plug which apparently was damp but the socket wasn't damaged. If I find the 2nd fuse in the handle can I simply replace it or does it need soldering?
