Scantronic AV9000 input user codes, how to reset?

I have a scrantronic av9000. I have been trying to input new codes. I am unable to get then entered in either keypad, the keypads are EKP1. Does the system need to be reset? There had been a power outage, I don't know if that may have anything to do with it. The power line is fine, there is a new battery. There has been no lightning strikes or power surges that I am aware of. I have one code in there, the master code. Please advise. My next inquiry will be, am I able to convert the system to a wireless phone system, cut the wire so to speak. Thank you
