My motor turns ok, but unit not working???

Turn off the power supply check behind the cutter head that there is nothing rubber behind dragging the shaft down if clean reconnect the power Fingers clear of the cutting blade try to spin it up with a screwdriver by flicking the blade to turn it if it starts and runs up change the
Capacitor get one from RS or Maplin.

If the motor is humming it could be a winding thats gone,some motors have a capacitor attached which could be faulty but it would have to be tested to find the root cause
