The cash register keeps ringing when I press any key the screen says
PLU NO DATA ERROR!

How do I get out of this mode

Sounds like a Samsung with a flat battery. Without any more information such as brand, model and machine history, that's the closest I can guess. Might be best to check the battery and RAM clear it for re-programming. If you need a manual, most are here:
