Mend Thermostat Control Wire

scandinova thermostat?

Trying to replace the thermostat control on this fridge I discovered the thermostat had a long thin white wire or tube attached to it,this wire/tube came out easy enough to begin then stopped it would appear there is something on the other end,does any one know what or how to get at it so it can be replaced
