How do I get my heater to work when red light is not lit?

Yesterday I set my heater to Manual ( as displayed on the display screen) the orange light was lit at the top of the heater and the little red light to the left of the display screen was lit. Everything worked O.K. Today I have switched the heater on and the orange light at the top came on but the little red light and screen did not light up. Nothing works. How do I get it to work?Thanks
