How can I fix my Toshiba Television, Model MD20F11?

We have a poor picture on our toshiba however we do not have the original remote. What else can we do to fix the problem?

this is happening to my tv as well... i purchased one and exchanged it for the same model after this problem started happening. the second one worked for a couple of months and broke the same way (would turn off seconds after being turned on). I called toshiba and after much argumentation they finally agreed for it to be repaired. 6 months after the repair of the second unit, the problem happens again....

i'm calling toshiba tomorrow... this is obviously a flawed model...

Same TV...same problem. I re-soldered all of the High-voltage section and cleaned the "B+" pot by swiping it from end to end 6 or 8 times (after marking its original position). Put it all back together and it works fine. I did have to turn the high voltage down on the flyback (lower knob). This can only be done when the set is on so be careful.

this is exactly what is going on with mine, I just got it last year for chirstmas and now it turns on then shuts off...
